Kayla was crowned Miss Delaware 2010 and proudly represented her home state at the 2011 Miss America Pageant where she placed as a Top 10 Finalist during the live telecast on ABC. During the pageant, Kayla was also voted as “America’s Choice” to become the next Miss America.
In the years following her reign, she is most proud of her work related to the autoimmune condition, Alopecia Areata. She has shared her personal story on television shows such as 20/20, The Wendy Williams Show, The Doctors and many more.

For her service work, Kayla was recognized by the US Junior Chamber as one of Ten Outstanding Young Americans and with the WBOC Jefferson Award. She has also led a National Women’s Hair Loss Seminar Tour throughout over 25 states and served on the National 4-H Board of Trustees, where she traveled as an advocate to Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia.

Kayla currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware with her husband, Kevin and their three feisty and adorable children.

Chris is thrilled to be back in Delaware, his home away from home, and to officially join the Miss Delaware USA family for the first time. A 2007 graduate of the University of Delaware and Chris was crowned the state’s first Mr. Delaware in 2008. He now resides in Atlanta where he works as a professional singer, musical theatre actor, and nationwide pageant coach. His pageant client success stories include national and state winners in Miss America, Miss USA, Miss High School America, and USA National Miss, among others.

As an emcee, Chris has hosted pageants across the country such as Miss District of Columbia USA, Miss Connecticut USA, and Miss Pennsylvania MAO, as well as the national finals of Miss Teen America and International Junior Miss, plus countless state and local events. His performance credits include City Theater Company in Wilmington and The Brandywiners at Longwood Gardens, as well as the nationally acclaimed Serenbe Playhouse, City Springs Theatre Company, and The Atlanta Opera. Chris also won the 2018 Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical.
